Cedar Point Launches Subsidiary across the Pond

Citing significant interest from European cable companies, Derry, N.H.-based cable switching gear maker Cedar Point Communications Inc. has formed a wholly owned subsidiary dedicated to the European market.

Cedar Point Europe Communications GmBH will be based in Meersburg, Germany, and will be led by former vice president of Nortel Networks Germany, Michael Brunsveld.

Brunsveld will be immediately responsible for all of Cedar Point's business development activity in the European market.

In June, Cedar Point named bridacom, an alliance between Wilhelm Sihn Jr. GmbH & Co. KG and IET.Holding GmBH, as its European distributor.

Cedar Point makes a multimedia switch for use by cable operators deploying voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) and other packet-based services. The company is privately held and has raised approximately $79 million in private funding since 2002.
